Daniel F. Richards, a lifelong resident of Lake County, Ohio, is a senior partner and has been with Wiles Richards since 1966. He practices in the area of civil litigation, including extensive municipal and insurance litigation, corporate law, business law, probate and estate planning, real estate, and employment law. Over the past thirty years, he has assisted other members of the firm in their representation of other municipalities and townships within Lake County, including appropriation litigation. He has also served as legal counsel on behalf of local government in appeals before the Eleventh District Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Supreme Court of United States.
Currently, Mr. Richards serves as the Law Director of the City of Kirtland. Prior to becoming Law Director of Kirtland, he served as Assistant Law Director for the City of Mentor – a position he held for over thirty years. With his extensive background in municipal and township law, Mr. Richards is a frequent speaker at municipal and township land use and zoning seminars. Mr. Richards also serves as legal counsel for the Mentor Public Library. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association. He currently serves as the legal liaison member of the Board of the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce, a member on the Board of Managers of the YMCA, a Trustee of the Lake Hospital Foundation, and a member of the Mentor Rotary.
